This painting talks about the strength that flows from working with nature; allowing it to flow through to become our weapon. The flowers are giant mouse ears, which are very common in the lanes where I live. Here, they grow out of the teeth of a sheep’s jaw, just as life grows out of death. The background is nearby Tintern Abbey, and the spearhead is from the British Museum. I am showing how we descend from warriors, and their courage runs through our veins.
